This illustrated Gulf War PSYOP leaflet portrays an elderly Iraqi couple worrying about their son. Is he alive or dead? Note the worry beads and the concern on the parents face. The message to the Iraqi soldiers is your family wants you home alive. Why make your parents suffer.
It served to make the soldier reflect on why was he doing this and did he really want to die.
The message in the leaflets would be reinforced by arabic loudspeaker broadcasts and "Voice of the Gulf" radio broadcasts which would emphasize: "Why fight your arab brothers?" How Hussein's decision to invade Kuwait started an unjust war.
Printed on the back of the leaflet would be instructions on how to surrender to allied forces.
